Dr Tan Suat Hian is currently a senior lecturer in Faculty of Industrial Sciences & Technology, Universiti Malaysia Pahang. Dr Tan was initially a biochemist who expanded to a professional in plant biotechnology, secondary metabolite engineering and enzyme technology. She has spent more than 8 years as an lecturer, consultant, trainer and as researcher. She has written more than 30 articles in local and international journals and conferences. She has been awarded more than 10 research findings regarding biosensor, enzyme technology, plant tissue culture & antioxidant activity. She has managed to have consultant projects in plant culture problems, chemical analysis, food analysis and manufacturing with more than RM 200,000. She is now a registered Bio-technologist in Malaysia Board of Technologists. She is also a senior Member of Asia- Pacific Chemical, Biological & Environmental Engineering Society.
