Joo Hui Tay is a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Industrial Sciences & Technology at Universiti Malaysia Pahang specializing in environmental and analytical chemistry. Joo Hui earned her Ph.D in 2018 in Applied Environmental Science from Stockholm University, Sweden, with a focus on the pathways of human exposure to halogenated flame retardants in indoor environment. She has been awarded with the Otto Hutzinger Student Award in 2017 during the International Symposium of Halogenated Persistent Organic Pollutants (DIOXIN) in Vancouver, Canada. She earned her MSc in 2010 in Environmental Chemistry and BSc in 2006 in Analytical and Environmental Chemistry from Universiti Malaysia Terengganu. Since 2010, when Joo Hui joint Faculty of Industrial Sciences & Technology (FIST), Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) as an university lecturer, her research interests have focused on monitoring of trace organic pollutants in the environment (sources, fate and monitoring techniques), trends in human exposure to trace contaminants and sewage epidemiology.
