IECBES2018 – My first IEEE conference

By | January 6, 2019

IEEE-EMBS Conference on Biomedical Engineering and Sciences (IECBES) 2018 was held on 3rd until 6th December 2018 in Kuching, Sarawak. This conference is held once in every two years. There is one similar IEEE-EMBS conference, an international one, which is held outside of Malaysia, once every year.

The conference delegates.

This was my very first IEEE conference and was excited about it because this conference is related to my research (i.e.: Biomedical Engineering). This conference brought biomedical engineering researchers from all around the world, including Malaysia, India, Japan, and Germany.

Our team managed to submit 3 research papers, entitled as follows (you can find more detail here):

Receiving the Best Paper Award from Assoc. Prof. Ann-Marie Hughes.

  1. Application of Asymptotic Expansion Homogenization for vascularized poroelastic brain tissue;
  2. Effects of Brain Tissue Mechanical and Fluid Transport Properties during Ischaemic Brain Oedema: A Poroelastic Finite Element Analysis; and
  3. Computational Model of Left Ventricle Infarct Remodelling during Passive Filling Phase.

The paper number 3 has been awarded Best Paper Award in computational modelling category.

This achievement is surely just a beginning for many more to come!
