Development Of First And Second Order Mathematical Model For Predicting Compression Strength In Slm Process

Additive manufacturing becoming important process in developing components for automotive, biomechanical and other application. The research is rapidly growing in term of investigating the parameters influence on the compression strength for different material. The main objective of the current study is to investigate the influence of SLM parameters on the compression strength when fabricating lattice structure with cobalt chromium materials. Three parameters were selected that is scan speed (m/s), power (W), arc angle and fillet radius. Box Bohnken was used to design the experiment and analysis the influence of the parameters. The results show that fillet radius influence significantly on the compression strength in first order. Meanwhile second order show the same results as first order fillet radius play the major role in compression strength. The prediction show that second order predict closer compare with first order. The error range is 3 to 10 percent.
