Howdy! Straight to the point, this is a short tutorial on how to shorten a long URL. There are many URL shorteners on the Internet. Your choice. But I use Bitly (and this is not a paid review or tutorial).
Imagine you receive this long URL (This is not a valid link, by the way): https://drive.google.com/file/d/17hnGGdkydfjLpP1QB5A76fhGGnfyZrgMNvefZvm/view?usp=sharing.
If I receive that, it turns me off! If you don’t like that long URL, do not piss other people off with long URLs as well.
Here goes…
Go to http://bitly.com, copy–paste the long URL in the white box written Shorten your link, click Shorten.
Then, click Copy.
https://bit.ly/2mK8pNm.
Or this: bit.ly/bit.ly/2mK8pNm. Easy, huh?
You may also customize the back-half of the shortened link with a more meaningful phrase. But you need to sign up.
You can sign up for free. That should suffice.
And, it is easier to sign up using your current Google ID.
By signing up, you can edit the back-half of the shortened link. Done! All other URLs are also saved in your account for future reference.
bit.ly/surveyFTKKPUMP20192020, that’s more meaningful, no?
That’s all. Good luck!
