Risk Based Inspection (RBI) for Kaneka Malaysia
On May 9, 2017 (Tuesday), Applied & Industrial Mathematics cluster (AIMs) from the Faculty of Science & Technology (FIST), Universiti Malaysia Pahang visit to KANEKA, Gebeng. This visit was attended by Dr Norhayati Binti Rosli (Stochastic Modeling), Dr Noryanti Binti Muhammad (Statistical Modeling) and Dr Chuan Zun Liang (Probability Theory). The purpose of this visit is to discuss the consultations that can be provided by expert from AIMS cluster, to assist in finding solutions on Risk Based Inspection (RBI) calculations using a probabilistic approach. The result of the visit, the standard probabilistic approach adopted in the industry has been identified. In addition, the planning for this project has also been discussed in the first visit of AIMs clusters to KANEKA.
The second meeting was held on July 14, 2017 (Friday) at Mathematics Support Center (MSC), UMP Pekan. The visit was represented by Mr Khairul Hafiz Khairuldin, Senior Engineer, Maintenance Department of KANEKA and Mr Mohd Hazaruddin Muhammad, Mechanical Engineer, Maintenance Department of KANEKA. The results of the meeting were an agreement relating to the scope of work and action plan for the RBI project has been reached. The project is expected to be completed in early October 2017. Ouput project is Microsoft Excel Results, Framework for the RBI Calculation and Half-Day Training on Calculating RBI using Probabilistic Approach.
