The universities aroud the world have already closed due to COVID-19. This scenario also affect Universiti Malaysia Pahang that closed from 17 March 2020 to 1 June 2020. Thus, lecturers are faced with difficulties to continue the classroom lectures. Although this can be a daunting task, instead of cobbling together tools and apps that may not work perfectly with each other, consider the Google ecosystem. You’ll find almost everything you need to create a resourceful and organized classroom– all for free.
- Google classroom – Lecturers can use it to create class, publish assignments, make announcement and organize digital files for online lecture.
- Google Meet – Can do meeting on the go, virtual training classes, remote interview and more.
- Google Drive – Lectures can store many different file types powerpoint documents, word documents, excel documents, pdf audio, images, videos, and more.
- Google Docs- an online word processor that lets you create and format documents and work with other people.
- Google Forms – Use Google Forms to create assessments such as Quiz and Assignment.
- Google Calender – Use Google Calendar to plan your routine schedule, create a to do list,set reminders for students assesments and collaborate with others students and staff.
- Google chromecast – With chromecast, lecturer can cast lecturer slides from smartphone or laptop to TV and projector.
- Google home / google nest – is a smartspeaker that uses artificial intelligence to answer your questions and obey certain commands. Lecturer can make this google nest as device to assist online lecture.
For me , as a lecturer, I have used many tools from google and it has helped me to prepare online lectures effectively. Thank you Google.
